At present, Dongtan, Chongming is in the season of birds migrating. The 1st Binhai Community Bird-watching Life Festival was opened. Bird lovers from all over the world can not only observe migratory birds in Dongtan, but also experience intangible cultural heritage such as bird whistle production. Let's go and have a look.

During the bird-watching competition, a total of 77 bird-watching enthusiasts from 26 teams participated in the competition. Setting up professional telescopes, they were immersed in the world of birds, and shared the rare species they observed with their peers.

A bird enthusiast said: "Just now, I observed curly pelicans, the national first-class protected animal, outside the embankment on the right. It is a very rare waterfowl, a surprise."

Due to ecological restoration, the number of migratory birds in the National Nature Reserve for Dongtan Birds has increased significantly. There are 122 species of birds in the Reserve, including cranes, herons, geese and ducks. Among them, curly pelicans have been rated as the supreme bird species in the bird-watching contest by the judges.

After watching birds in Dongtan, you can go to the life market in Fuwei Village Nature Center where Jin Weiguo, the inheritor of bird whistles, is showing the manufacturing process of bird whistles, and imitating the call of migratory birds with bird whistles.

Ma Qiang, the instructor in Fuwei Village, Zhongxing Town, told that he hoped to promote the bird-watching industry and make more tourists enjoy high-quality ecological life in Chongming.
