Now is the perfect time for spring outings and flower viewing. Recently, rapeseed flowers across Chongming have burst into full bloom, creating a stunning "golden ocean." Follow our camera to immerse yourself in this breathtaking scenery.

At Guangming Pastoral Scenic Area, the rapeseed flowers form a dazzling sea under the spring sun. Planted along the gentle slopes of the park, the 500-mu golden waves stretch as far as the eye can see, harmonizing with the blue sky. Strolling along the paths, visitors are surrounded by delicate blossoms and intoxicating fragrances.

Feng Fang, head of the agricultural division at Guangming Port, explains that the rapeseed flowers bloom from March 15 to around April 15, currently transitioning from early to peak bloom. These fields will be harvested by late June, yielding approximately 125 kilograms of rapeseed per mu.

Beyond Bright Pastoral, vast stretches of rapeseed flowers also line the Beiyan Highway, some cultivated by Shanghai Yuejin Modern Agriculture Co Ltd. This year, the company planted over 8,000 mu of rapeseed—partly for green manure and partly for oil production. The sheer scale makes the golden fields even more spectacular, painting the landscape like a vibrant masterpiece.

Additionally, Shanghai Guangming Changjiang Modern Agriculture Co Ltd has grown 7,000 mu of rapeseed this year, scattered on both sides of the Beiyan Highway. Visitors are welcome to admire Chongming’s "golden ocean" while enjoying the radiant spring weather.
