Pearl Lake Road is the main road connecting the Xisha Pearl Lake Scenic Area in the west of Chongming. Tourists are overwhelmed by the enchanting red leaves everywhere from south to north along the road.

More than 3,000 North American red maples are planted in the green isolation belt and on both sides of the road, which is dotted with gorgeous begonia, photinia fraseri, redrlowered loropetalum, and other arbors and plants. In Autumn, they will gradually turn red. The red leaves, like a rosy glow, are particularly brilliant and eye-catching, attracting tourists to take photos.

It is not only the red maple leaves that turn red with the change of season, but also the fir forest in the Xisha Pearl Lake scenic area, forming a forest belt color of red, yellow, and green, which together outlines the unique beautiful picture of this season.

The Xisha Wetland Water Forest is an excellent place to admire cedar trees, and this is a tourist project developed by fully utilizing wetland resources in the Xisha Pearl Lake Scenic Area. A waterway with a total length of more than 2,000 meters has been dredged in the area. Along the coast, the main plants are Chinese willow, baldcypress, pond cypress, and Zhongshan fir. Among them, the most colorful one is the baldcypress. Its feather-like leaves are very beautiful. After winter, the leaves turn dark red, which is even more beautiful under the reflection of the lake.

Here, tourists can walk along the plank road and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way, and take an electric boat to the hinterland of the water forest and feel the charm of the secret land different from the plank road. Stroll through the forest, and you will encounter various birds.

At present, Xisha Pearl Lake scenic spot is making every effort to create a national 5A resort. After large-scale ecological restoration in the early stage and careful patrolling at regular times, the water environment and tourism infrastructure have been greatly improved.
