In the mid-summer season, the fragrant and juicy fresh peaches are one of the most representative fruits of summer. Various early peach varieties have matured one after another, providing citizens with this summer's fragrance and sweetness.

The reporter walked into the Shanghai Zhonghuadi Fruit and Vegetable Professional Cooperative located in Jianshe Town and saw the heavy early peaches hanging all over the branches, emitting an enticing peach fragrance in the wind. Fruit farmers shuttle through the peach forest, and they are busy picking ripe peaches. They gently tear open light-proof bags wrapped around the fruits, revealing the delightful early peaches.

Cheng Wei, head of the cooperative, tells that the main variety of yellow peaches produced in the base is Jinxiang (an early peach variety), with a retail price of 10 yuan per kilogram and a daily picking volume of around 1,000 kilograms. In addition to the yellow peaches, the cooperative has planted selected varieties such as flat peaches and honey peaches, thus effectively extending the fruit picking and sales period. It is expected that by mid to late July, other varieties will gradually mature, and the price of peaches will be more affordable.

Moreover, local fresh peaches have been sold at Wanda Jingyouke Supermarket, with a variety of nectarines, yellow peaches, and other fruits available at prices ranging from 11.96 yuan/kilogram to 27.6 yuan/ kilogram, attracting many citizens to come and purchase.

Ji Yuping, an official of the supermarket, tells that some employees select the peaches sold on the shelves every day. Fresh peaches with a weight between 250 grams and 300 grams with a maturity of around 80% are selected. Citizens can rest assured to buy them.
