Xinhe Town, located in the middle of Chongming Island, is the main part in Chongming development plan. Relying on water, Xinhe Town is the core of Chongming's 100-mile coastline of the Yangtze River, with a 10-kilometer coastline. "For example, the Yingzhou ancient tune Pipa in Xinhe is a true 'music of elegance'. Our 'Peony Pavilion' perfectly integrates Chongming folk gongs and drums with Jiangnan Sizhu." Cao Cuixiu, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and mayor of Xinhe Town, introduced that in Xinhe, there are special performances of folk music and related cultural activities every year, and the people are also happy. A few days ago, Xinhe Town also released its original song Xinmeng Changhe. The song is based on Yingzhou ancient tune Pipa. With the sound of Sizhu, Cao cuixiu reviewed the development of Xinhe Town in recent years. "The development achievements of Xinhe Town in recent years can be described in three 'more'”, Cao cuixiu said. Firstly, the town is more livable.The transformation of villages in the whole town has realized full coverage. The local delicious food, three bases and characteristic homestays of Xinhe Town have attracted many tourists. Next, Xinhe Town will revitalize the idle farmland and houses in the town, create a "shared farmland" project, and further stimulate the vitality of the village.
